Last Updated on : 19th October 2016

littlevoicessarahFollowing the success in neighbouring Putney and East Sheen, national performing arts organisation ‘Little Voices’ is celebrating opening up its first centre in Teddington, Richmond upon Thames by staging a free singing and drama inspired workshop for local youngsters delivered by West End guest Sarah Harlington. Sarah is best known for playing character Serena Katz in Fame (UK Tour) and starring in Avenue Q and Hairspray Musical Tours. Sarah has a wealth of experience in the theatre and professional industry, having training at Arts Ed Theatre School.

The free event will be held at Teddington Baptist Church on Thursday 10th November.  It offers a rare opportunity for local budding young performers aged 4 – 12 years with a passion for musical theatre, the chance to work with Sarah and the Little Voices team at this ‘one off’ workshop.

Little Voices’ Principal, Ashlea Pearson, said “We are thrilled that we managed to secure a West End guest to assist on the event. To have her working with us at Little Voices to educate the children of Richmond is amazing! We cannot wait for 10th of November to watch Sarah put her stamp on the workshop.”

“Participants can expect to take part in an exciting repertoire of activities including character work, singing songs and performance techniques.”

“Little Voices has been expanding into south-west London for quite a long time now, with the success and high levels of enrolments in both Little Voices Putney and Richmond, and Teddington will be the sister venue to our centre in East Sheen”.

Little Voices is an organisation that uses singing and drama to develop confidence and self-esteem in young people by teaching them in engaging after-school lessons.

Children are taught within a unique framework of specialised lessons in groups of no more than six pupils, working towards highly respected and accredited musical theatre, drama, acting and communication examinations – ‘The London Academy Of Music & Dramatic Arts’.

Classes will be held at Teddington Baptist Church every Thursday from 4.00pm from Thursday 17th November onwards.  As well as the free workshop, there will also be a free trial lesson to allow pupils to experience the classes first hand.
