LONDON’S newest independent senior school will open its doors to students for the first time this Wednesday.
Located in a historical Grade I listed building at 106 Piccadilly, Eaton Square Upper School, Mayfair will launch for 106 new pupils this week – making it London’s first new co-educational senior school in more than 20 years.
The co-educational school has capacity for up to 420 students aged between 11 and 18 years and boasts state-of-the-art, purpose-built science labs, lecture style classrooms and modern refectory.
Part of the Minerva Education portfolio, the school is connected to the existing Eaton Square pre-prep and preparatory schools, and nearby Hyde Park School and The Lyceum. Its extensive network will offer current students a seamless transition to senior school, as well as providing wider children from across London with an outstanding upper school facility.
At the forefront of Eaton Square Mayfair, Headmasters Sebastian Hepher and Phillip Williams will be leading the new team responsible for delivering the carefully curated academic timetable and extensive programme of extra-curricular clubs and activities.
With a combined career spanning 50 years, Sebastian and Phillip have extensive experience in both co-educational and single sex schools, and will be bringing their unique skill sets and expertise in holistic education to the new school.
Speaking about the launch, Sebastian Hepher, Headmaster, said: “We have been preparing for the launch of Eaton Square Mayfair for more than two years now, so we are delighted to finally welcome our 106 students to 106 Piccadilly!
“As with all of the schools in the Eaton Square group, we pride ourselves on offering a stimulating and engaging education for our students in an environment that is both challenging and enjoyable – we are confident that the new school will provide just that.”
Philip Williams added: “We are very much looking forward to starting our first academic term. We have an outstanding new team on board that has been cherry-picked based on their flair for bringing the best out of students. With that in mind, we know this first year is going to be the start of something very special for the Eaton Square group.”
