Portland Place School has commended its pupils as they returned to collect their excellent GCSE results this morning, (24 August).
Staff and pupils at the leading independent school are celebrating not only a high record of five plus A*-C grades with 85% achieving this, but also being placed in the top 3% of schools nationally for progress based on Value Added Scores for A-Levels – the difference between what a pupil achieves, in comparison to what they were expected to receive.
Headmaster, David Bradbury commented: “The pupils have worked incredibly hard and it is pleasing to see that they have made outstanding progress. It gives us confidence that our method of teaching, which is based around bespoke, individual attention in a nurturing environment, enables them to fulfil their potential.
‘This double celebration of exceptional GCSE results and value added scores for A-levels illustrates the hard work and determination shown by both staff and pupils. To be placed in the top 3% of schools nationally for progress based on value added is a fantastic accomplishment.”
This week’s GCSE results are proving that pupils are following in the same footsteps as last week’s cohort where the school celebrated a 96% pass rate in A-Level results.
Portland Place School is a leading independent co-educational school for children aged 9-18, located directly in the heart of the City of Westminster.
