Building a community sports pitch in Clapham

Postby claphamite » Wed Feb 07, 2018 3:56 pm

Hi

This is a small plug for the upcoming coming community engagement exercise that the Heathbrook Primary School PTA will be running throughout March to raise awareness of our plans to build a community sports pitch. :D

An even smaller plug... I am running a marathon to help raise funds for the community sports pitch! Every penny helps! :)

Link as follows: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/duncan-adams :P

We want to create a professional quality, all-weather astroturf pitch for use by the children and the community around the school. In a very densely-populated borough, the school is fortunate to have a large play area. This area has the potential to become an outstanding facility for the school and local community in an area with a shortage of such provision and where poverty and deprivation are particularly high.

The pitch will solve a community problem: To date 25 teams have confirmed they will use the pitch, for football, tennis, rugby, lacrosse and the list is growing. This much-needed community facility, will secure local teams, grass root clubs and other local users an outstanding pitch at a modest, attainable cost.

We want to engage as much of the community as possible! All the children, parents and carers at the school are looking forward to our Festival of Sport on Friday 23rd March; more exciting details will be released soon! ;)

Thanks!
