Re: Views on Beatrix Potter please?

I am under no illusion that it is a long shot. It is, however, the second closest to where I live so I am looking at the six closest schools and beyond. I suspect it may not even be worth putting BP down but that is what I am trying to figure out. I also don't understand where its amazing reputation...

Re: Views on Beatrix Potter please?

Thanks pigeonairre - I agree that Ofsted can be confusing (and from experience with nurseries, I know that you need to see for yourself as something may look better on paper than it is in reality and vice versa). I'd still be really grateful for any answers to my questions on Beatrix Potter though. ...

Full time nanny wanted from January 2014

We are two families looking to do a nannyshare from January onwards. Between us we have two one year-olds and a three year-old (although the three year-old would be in nursery some of the time). We live very close to each other in SW17. Please let me know if you are interested and available. We are ...

Re: Views on Beatrix Potter please?

Apologies for jumping onto an old(ish) thread, but we are looking at primary schools and Beatrix Potter is our second closest although we live outside the catchment area. I note that occasionally some places are offered to people living outside the priority catchment area, but we live around 900m aw...

Re: Primary Schools off Balham High Road

Do you have to fulfil the religious criteria for Trinity St Mary's to get in? (I note all applicants were offered a place last year - does this mean a number of kids are not C of E?) Although in our case one of our child's parents is Anglican we do not regularly attend a C of E church.

Re: Fantastic nanny available from September

Hi, this would be ideal for me but I would need someone from October. Do you think she would be interested? I have a toddler and a baby and am based in SW17. Many thanks!

Re: Balance Bikes

We got the wooden Joey Hudora balance bike and our son loves it. It was about £50 as far as I recall and had very good internet reviews. Evans cycles will assemble it for you if you order from them.

Re: Taxi cake

Wow, I didn't know you could get a 3D shaped cake tin - and have now found it on google for anyone else interested: http://www.cakecraftshop.co.uk/shop/products/id/kni2105l2043.htm I have also found a couple of ideas online that don't look too tricky: http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/little-car-c...

Re: Taxi cake

Thanks Schoolgatesmum - that's a great idea. I'm not convinced I will be able to pull off a fully fledged taxi cake so that's a really good alternative! I'd still welcome any recipes for taxi/car cakes though, if anyone has any - I am determined to try my best even if it means a few failed attempts....

Taxi cake

Hi there My son is obsessed with black cabs and, rather ambitiously, I am hoping to make him a cake in the shape of a black cab for his second birthday. I'm not a cake pro (at all) and wondered whether anyone had a recipe that is relatively easy to follow that they might be prepared to share with me...

Re: Big Dip

Don't bother going with any kids under 3 though! We went with a 10 month old and an 18 month old. We arrived at 12.30 but by then the only slots for the pool were from 3 onwards. So in the meantime the only thing available for little ones to do was play in the sandpit, where there were older childre...
