Re: Second hand or used push chair - yay or nay?

Definitely yay. Definitely make a trip to Fara on Chatham rd. you can ask the staff to tell you when the type of buggy you want comes in. I saw a REALLY good condition mountain buggy duet, with a buggy board that looked maybe a year old and well kept for £30 just a couple of weeks ago, was tempted t...

Selling: GLTC Northcote Storage Units - New

Bought 2 weeks ago and my husband has "exercised his veto" over them... he simply thinks they don't fit the space well. Obviously I can't return them now I've put them up so I'm hoping to sell them. Cost £365 because I'm so unlucky I bought them two days before their sale started. I could ...

Re: Children's Swimming Lessons in SW London - 2mins of your time please?

Bit late so don't know if you still want info (but as I'm currently searching for a class, I came across your post!) 1) What are you looking for in kids' swimming lessons? Good timing (toddlers who nap can't do early afternoon, older kids at nursery can't do before 4pm really) 2) What have been your...

Re: Nurseries in Nightingale Triangle/Wandsworth Common/Balham area

Quite right! Oops. Was recommended the following but never looked as I didn't need daycare: Evolution (near Waitrose) Nightingales (in St Francis Xavier college grounds) - I viewed this 4 years ago and liked it - but I'm sure a current attendee's parent/carer can give a more recent review so I won't...

Re: Nurseries in Nightingale Triangle/Wandsworth Common/Balham area

Well my (nearly 4 yo) son was a Second Steps so I've just done the rounds of finding recommendations and viewing a few nearby. I wasn't looking for Daycare again as I'm on maternity leave and didn't need the all day care - so I didn't pursue any of those: Oaktree Nursery (Ramsden Road in the church ...

Re: Teenage scammers "Fundraising" door to door for football clubs

I had an adult who said he ran a football club at the local state school on Chestnut Grove fundraising at my door just after Easter. He did a good spiel on whether I had kids the right age to join them. When he handed over the sponsorship form I noticed the names pretty much all had "sponsorshi...

I know someone who got Honeywell and they're 222m straight line.

Re: Buiding nightmare - help needed

Do you have a JCT contract with the builders? Apparently if you have one you can contact an arbitrator to help in these circumstances. (I only know this as we didn't have one and are still going through legal hoops at the moment to get things fixed with our builders!) You could hire an architect/pro...

Re: Tennis Courts and Parks in Wandsworth?

Not on the same scale as Battersea Park but Wandsworth Common has courts. Two different playgrounds (one near Chivalry Road which is closest to Clapham Junction) and one across the tracks which is next to a cafe (Skylark) that the council has let local parents take over - it's had excellent write up...

Re: What are the primary options in the Balham area?

I can offer some of my own opinions on private options (it's been a while since we looked as DS is 2.5yrs now so he's not at school and we did all the applications 2.5yrs ago so things may have changed): Hornsby House in the Nightingale triangle is usually described as "exactly what a state pri...
