English speaking German girl looking for nanny type job

Hi all, I have a German friend whose daughter is 18, has a driving license, speaks (as well as German) French and English and is looking to get some work in the UK perhaps as an au pair or something similar. I have personally met her and she really has a delightful and happy personality as well as b...

Re: May half term - looking for inspiration

I have just written a blog on exactly those sort of holidays - loads of places in the Algarve and longer haul. Might be worth having a look, http://www.familyholidayscompany.com/blogs/-villas-and-apartments. I would also recommend Princesa Yaiza but they are not really self-catering more just a hand...

Re: Winter sun + 23mth baby?

Hi Owenwe Just a word of caution on Mauritius - it is fab for children but in March you are in the wet season and there is a chance of a tropical cyclone which would not be fun with a young child. Better weather would be in the Caribbean if you want long haul or otherwise Dubai or Canaries. We have ...

Best prices at the Martinhal in the Algarve

Just a little note to warn anyone thinking of going to the Martinhal this summer that they have just hiked the prices for most key dates - the Martinhal operate a system like Easyjet where the price goes up the better sold a particular date is. Prices are likely to rise again at some point. If you c...

Re: Abama, Tenerife - Advice on Going Half Board?

Hi, Unless you have a hire car or bothered to grab a taxi there is nowhere else to eat and food is expensive at the Abama. Double check with whoever you booked it with as I am sure that the kids will get a free HB upgrade making it probably worthwhile - also check if this means they are restricted t...

Language Exchanges

Would love some advise as doing a survey into the sad fact that many schools are now no longer offering French/Spanish/German exchanges. For those that don't, I might have a solution but as I don't know which schools these might be without calling each one individually it feels a long job. Please co...

Re: Holiday ideas for October half-term

Hi Audrey Mauritius is the perfect at this time BUT you may have left it to late to book unless you can miss a couple of days of school as the flights are busy and expensive. Re: January holiday in Mauritius

We are just back form our family holiday to the Paradis in Mauritius. I think it is fabulous and you can within the kids club have a private nanny at 7 Euros per hour for your little one. They will also keep an eye on your 3 year old too even though they can stay on their own at no extra cost. They ...

Re: Princess Laiza - tips or advice?

Depends what room type you have booked. If you have a 2 bedroom suite then you will be in the annex - some prefer the location of this, others not but room type and décor is the same. If you have a 1 bedroom suite then you are in the main building. As far as views and locations go I don't think ther...
