Alarm bells ring at 'a lot of work' put in to a marriage. Shouldn't require 'work' at all! Will point to 'The Relationship Handbook' by Dr George Pransky - no 'work' required... it is a marriage not a career!

We used Sarah Demaree at the Awareness Centre (we would meet at her home in Pimlico which was a nicer environment and better timing) and we both felt she was good. We have had to put in a lot of work since the counselling but I would choose Sarah again and happily recommend her. It is worth trusting your instinct - the first counsellor we met with didn't gel with us.

Good luck, working with a counsellor is often dependent on whether or not you "click"...difficult to tell at first admittedly but keep pursuing until you both feel happy to work with them.

I know this has been asked before in previous years but I was wondering if I could get some up to date recommendations for marriage counsellors in the area. I know the Awareness Centre is an option, however they seem to have limited availability in the evenings (both of us work). Can anyone please let me know if there is someone they would wholeheartedly recommend? Counselling and not coaching please. It is so daunting to do something so important just via a Google search.
