“Flowers for you love!”
Last Saturday afternoon a friendly Marks and Spencer’s chap dropped off a massive Mothers Day bouquet.
I was impressed.
Mr NVN had managed to forget every single Mother’s Day since we’d had children.
Later that evening I told him how surprised I was and even confessed I’d checked they weren’t meant for a neighbour.
My own mother, however, was less pleased.
Her flowers hadn’t arrived.
On ringing Marks and Spencers to complain it became apparent I’d sent her bouquet to myself, a simple case of the wrong delivery address.
“I can’t believe you sat there and took credit for something you didn’t do,” I ranted once off the phone, “didn’t you wonder who ACTUALLY sent them?”
“I did,” he replied, “but I thought they’re here and they’re addressed to you and it seemed such a waste to not use them.”
There was a pause.
“Would it be easier,” he whined, “if in future you just ordered two bunches and then we wouldn’t get into this pickle?”
My reply suggesting what he could pickle won’t get past any spam filters so let’s move onto the topics you’ve been talking about on NappyValleyNet…
