Dear South West London Mum,
Go Ape! is coming to Battersea Park (click here for details).
For those of you that don’t know, it’s a “tree top” experience that involves swinging from platform-to-platform, 30 or 40 feet off the ground, in an elaborate concoction of webbing straps, harnesses and pulleys.
I’m “totes excited” (as my eldest would say) as it’s one of our regular Lake District activities.
Being scared of heights I don’t actually take part, but I like to think my ground-based moral support is invaluable as I hold the fleeces and take pictures.
Last summer was no exception but as Mr NappyValleyNet was getting ready to take to the trees for his latest jaunt he called me over.
“Can you give your JanePlan person a call and order more of their meal stuff?” he asked sotto voce.
I was obviously pleased that he’d decided to eat healthier but it did seem an odd time and place to have a foodie epiphany.
All became clear a few moments later when one of the instructors wandered over with a contraption of belts and buckles that wouldn’t have looked out of place in “50 Shades of Grey”.
“Whose the bloke who needs the double harness?” he asked.
This is what you’ve been talking about on NappyValleyNet (Wandsworth):
