The world’s most brilliant social season has just begun.
I’m not referring to the Henley Regatta, Wimbledon Championships or Chelsea Flower Show.
This particular social season can knock a game of tennis, a rowing boat and a bit of compost into a cocked hat!
I’m referring to the school fete and street party season and it’s certainly kicked off in earnest!
My children’s primary school and Rutherford House had their fetes on Saturday. I’m feeling a little sunburnt from the Ritherdon Road jamboree yesterday and we’re haven’t even had the Northcote Road (click here), Abbeville Village (click here), Beatrix Potter School (click here) Earlsfield Primary School (click here) and Trinity Hospice events yet (click here).
We’re delighted to be involved with all of these either officially as media partners (it’s a grand title but it just means we write about them a lot) or unofficially by promoting them via our activities listings and to our Twitter followers.
So if your street or PTA are going to all that effort to give families a great day out, don’t forget to post the details on NappyValleyNet and we’ll do everything we can to let people know it’s happening! (click here to get to our activities page)
And if your fete is looking for an amazing competition to pull in the crowds can I suggest a “Dads Chilli Eating Contest”? I’d never seen one before but it was definitely a highlight of my children’s school fair. The last time I saw Mr NVN so pink and sweaty was when he thought he’d forgotten our anniversary.
