I’m looking for an honest and reasonably priced damp proofing company if anyone has any recommendations?

Many thanks

Have you found the cause of the damp? In these houses, all too often previous owners have made the outside level too high (by laying slabs on top of old slabs etc) When the outside level is higher than the original damp proof course you'll get damp walls. If this is the case, the best solution is to carve out a small channel where the slabs touch your brickwork and fill the channel with pea shingle. This will allow rainwater to soak away below your DPC and not sit above it causing dampness in the wall. We sorted our problem with one man and an angle-grinder for a day. Next door called in Kenwood and parted with thousands of pounds for damp proofing via injections into all their walls. They masked the symptoms but didn't treat the cause.
Whatever you do, avoid Kenwood. There's a very nice, honest damp specialist in Wandsworth Common if you do need help. They're called Damp & Timberguard.

I’ve heard Kenwood or Garrats are good. Haven’t used them before but I’ve heard good things.

Echoing MrsOctober's comments - do make sure you absolutely need a DPC and it's not just on the say-so of a Damp Proofing company - it is often resolved by ensuring correct external levels or leaks. Check all possible causes before taking a DPC further.

No matter what job, always get at least three quotes/opinions.. in this instance, for a rather controversial job which can result in a thousand pounds bill I’d get 4 or 5 and ask indeed about the possible causes. Kenwood and Rentokill are Which recommended, you can also ask Gulliver. They’re out of London which often means a bit cheaper.

My advice: don’t bother about the guarantee. If the co is still standing in 20years( and that’s a big “if”), they’ll find plenty of excuses not to redo the job anyway.

Good luck!

Hi, I also need contacts of such a company, I hope one of them is working now. Thanks in advance. In fact, I already had a bad experience with a damp proofing company I found on Facebook. They took money for the job and didn't do it. To be honest, I didn't know that this could happen to me in the 21st century. But after the pandemic, I'm not surprised at anything. Besides, I need the contacts of a reliable company that deals with mold removal. I know that my friends who live in Orlando ordered the services of a local mold removal company. So, I visited their website and realized that I need to find the same company in London. And I will be happy to get your offers.
