Extending the kitchen out by a meter - worth it?

Postby peony10 » Thu Apr 13, 2017 10:25 am

Hi,

We are thinking about extending our kitchen by about a meter into the garden - it would then extend as far as the current downstairs loo, and would match up with some other extensions on the street. The side return has already been done though, so I am wondering how worthwhile it is to do - is it going to be incredibly expensive to only add a meter or so?

Thanks!

It will all depend in your need to add a steel or not for support. You won't know until you get an engineer out to ave a look.
It will probably cost more than you think.

For all the work, you are not buying much space. I would try to think more strategically. What is it that you really want to do?

Thanks for the comments...Probably a good idea to get an engineer to take a look then... IrenaP what we really want to do is extend the kitchen out to create more space in the kitchen... indoor space is more useful than outdoor space for most of the year!
