Basement conversion recommendations or ideas?

Postby noliver2010 » Thu Feb 23, 2017 2:52 pm

Hello,

Our 2 bed flat is starting to become snug with two small but growing children and with the prices of houses in the area, combined with stamp duty, estate agent fees etc we are exploring the possibilities of converting our basement into a couple of bedrooms and bathroom.

Does anyone know of any good companies we could get round for quotes?

Or is it better (and cheaper!) to get the designs and planning permission done separately and then find builders that could carry out the job?

Any help would be gratefully received! Thanks

We used Advantage Basement who were brilliant. Super efficient, they keep to their time line and their quote was very reasonable.
They will do a shell or a full fit for you. Def work getting a quote from.

I can PM a recommendation for a good specialist basement build company. Don't forget party wall costs and planning application will be more involved. If you use separate services you'll need party wall surveyor, architect who specialises in basements, structural engineer then a builder. I would probably try to keep the PWS/Structural surveyor under one roof, at least.

Try Werner and Werner Ltd. They have done refurbishment to our house and I know that they do basements as well. Very good and reliable company which we would definitely use once again if we have a chance. this is their website:
