Replacement Sash Window - Recommendations please!

Postby Jellie75 » Thu Aug 27, 2015 10:40 am

Hello!

We need to replace the sash windows in our 'new' house and as we are on a main road we would like them to be double glazed/noise reducing in glass. Can anyone recommend a good company that wont cost the earth to do this please?

Many thanks

Hi
It's a tough one.

It is a bit of a trusim that you do get what you pay for in windows terms so it really depends on budget.

Ayrton are very good

http://www.ayrtonbespoke.com/

Neighbours of ours had them put in and they swear by them.

Hope that helps

Based on the reviews on this site we are currently have new sash windows with Chapel Lane. They are in the middle of the installation and so far so good. I'll report back when they finish this week.

We also had a good quote from Ayrton and it was a close call when we chose Chapel Lane.

Good luck.

HI Guys,

Just to say we used Chapel Lane Sash Windows earlier this year and they were absolutely fab!
They manufactured them in about 4 weeks and took about a week to fit 6 windows.
Plus they were really nice guys.

Avoid Wandsworth Sash Windows!

We have just won our court case against them and now face a battle to recover costs.

We have double glazing units that are unfinished, unsealed and allow water and wind to damage our interior. Our roof and attic are also damaged and require repair.

They are rude, aggressive people.

Do not be fooled by the attractive looking brand, they are East End cowboys.

They also use a company called "Reputation" to cleanse their online profile of bad reviews and place fake positives.

We went with Ayrton - similarly priced against two or three other quotes - and were really pleased with their work and windows. Good people to deal with too.

Sash windows on St John's Hill should not be mixed up with Wandsworth Sash Windows on Lavender hill.

St John's hill sash windows are lovely people.
