Tooting Parents - Commuting for School?

Postby Admiral Piett » Fri Nov 17, 2017 12:28 pm

Hi all, I’d be really keen to hear from any Tooting parents who commute with their kids to school. We are looking at Newton Prep and Eaton House The Manor, both of which we like but which are a bit of a trip away on public transport. In theory the trip seems perfectly manageable but any real life experiences would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I suggest you try the commute at the time you would have to leave and see how you get on. One other thing to bear in mind is the catchment area of the schools. If your child is the only one in the area you live in and his friends all live miles away it’s going to have an impact on play dates etc. Now they’re older both my kids benefit from having mates whose houses they can walk to. If all your child’s friends are a couple of tube rides or a half hour drive away then that will be a bit of a pain to put it mildly!
