Primary school offer day... Get the school you wanted?

We got Heathbrook in Clapham Old Town, which was our first choice so really pleased.

How did everybody else do?

Wix Primary Results- is bilingual specified?

Postby beachdreaming » Tue Apr 18, 2017 6:21 pm

We just received notification that we got Wix Primary School but it doesn't specify bilingual or English only. Does anyone have experience with notification for Wix bilingual or know of what it should read if a child gets into the bilingual programme. I'll probably have to call but we were looking forward to finding out this evening.

Does your original application not require you to specify a stream, and your offer will relate to that? E.g. Normal stream second choice, bilingual first choice, and it tells you whether you got your first or second preference.

Hi
I've merged these as they seemed to be on the same topic!

Good luck everyone!

You have to put Wix Primary down twice and then include a supplemental form with the first choice spot for the bilingual programme. When I went to look at the application again online it just shows Wix Primary as our primary choice and then there's a link to the supplemental form. We probably didn't get the bilingual and I'll just have to call in the morning to confirm but thank you for asking.

Does anyone know when the catchment area data will be out?
I'm very interested to see if the new sibling rules have had much impact!

The catchment for Belleville seems quite wide again this year, friends on Gayville Road and Chivalry Road both got places there (their first choice)! They were absolutely gobsmacked as they thought they would have to wait until at least July or September...
...Looks like the 5 classes is having a positive effect.

I think it comes out by September as councils have to release the entrance data in advance of people applying for the 18/19 school year.

From memory, Wandsworth get their's out really quickly.
