Swimming Pool Recommendations?

Postby lns247 » Wed Jan 22, 2014 4:12 pm

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend any swimming pools or complexes that are more than just a standard pool? Would love to find one to take a little one to with things like flumes, a wave machine, river runs etc.

Has anyone found one? We have already ruled out The Latchmere! Ideally one we could drive to or with very easy public transport access.

Thanks :-)

They aren't that nearby but Windsor leisure centre and Guildford Spectrum have what you are looking for.

We often make the trip to Guildford Spectrum - it's great. Get there for opening time to beat the crowds...!

We go to the Guildford Spectrum as well. Totally agree re: going early - it can be very noisy and lively so can be a bit overwhelming during peak times. I think you can book tickets in advance online.

Guildford is probably easier to get to, but Coral Reef pool in Bracknell has three good slides, lots of play areas including some for smaller children, and a hot-tub bit that the parents hang out in as well.

They also have a Go Ape, and a science-themed play centre, as well as an actual real forest to explore. It is worth a trip.

[no, I don't work for them! :)]

latchmere has a slide and waves, but def aimed at the younger audience - probably max 6 years or so.

What's wrong with Latchmere - why ruled out? Other than no real slides?

Bit further than Guildford but Hotel Grand Wailea in Maui has the best pools I've ever seen.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone - clearly I'm off to book flights to Maui!
