I'm weight loss resistant! Can anyone recommend a professional to help!?!?!

Postby lunalunita » Sat Dec 24, 2016 4:11 am

I am desperate to lose weight!!

I can't shift the last 2 stone and no matter what I do I can't lose weight...and I have literally tried anything. Ive worked with 2 different personal trainers and calorie and macro counting for months on end. Ive even tested my hormones and for food allergies. Nothing is working. Im getting so down and so tired of investing so much energy into something and not getting anything in return. Surely not all hope is lost?!?!?

Can anyone recommend a top weight loss professional or coach who has had success with those who are weight loss resistant??

Ill do anything it takes! I just don't want to go through another year without any success in my efforts.

Thanks so much!

Have you tried the Sirt Food diet? So many people have used it with huge success.
It's written by two very professional guys, one a nutritonalist and another a sportsmen.
Many rugby guys use it to lose fat and the results are great. It's very easy to follow with with a mon plan and recipes for every day which don't take long to make.
You can buy it on Amazon but make sure it's the original as there are many copies out there.
I think with any weight loss programmer regardless if you use a specialist of not if you can't follow the plan then you won't have success.
Also ask your Dr to test your bloods for hormone issues etc.
Good luck.

I recommend Anna Marsh. Her website is here, http://annamarshnutrition.co.uk
She's been writing lots of blogs recently so worth checking her out on Facebook as well to see if you think she'd be a good fit for you. I lost loads of inches/changed my body shape in a three month stint on her VIP Ladies that Lift program (its online with weekly accountability calls) and then fell pregnant again with baby 3...I'll be rejoining to hit my goals again in the new year. It's personalised macro based but she will work with you until you lose (working out the problem) and it is a holistic approach, food/exercise/mindset everything.

Thanks so much to you both for your recommendations! Though I am feeling like I really need to work with a real expert in person to get to the bottom of what is going on with me and why I cant lose the weight and keep me motivated until we find a solution.

Erinisle - did you find it challenging to work with someone online? How did you discover Anna Marsh.

Hi Bluebird, I was initially recommended Anna by my trainer at my gym (I train at a local crossfit place and Anna used to train at one too).
Anna lives in Bournemouth - so she's not too far away if after you chat you choose to be a one-to-one client. She sometimes comes to London - maybe a couple of times a month.
I found/find the online program really empowering. This particular program is a group program with a group of about 60 likeminded ladies. We all interact on a secret facebook group and on the weekly calls (there are usually 3 at different times in the week, scheduled in advance so you plan to join them). Anna herself isa certified functional medicine practitioner. There are other staff monitoring the group so you only fall through the cracks if you are completely determined to do so.
I liked the group way of approaching it - ultimately I am responsible for my own body, how I treat it and so on - and it's fabulous to have people helping/working out why weight loss is hard (for example gut issues, hormone issues - all of which Anna is completely across) but in the end, it comes down to me, especially when I stop working with someone.
Saying all that, Anna works one-to-one too so I'm sure if you make contact, the team can work out if what they do might work for you or if another approach might be better.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Oh, one other thing. Some feedback they took on this year was that the group would like to meet up. So they arrange quarterly meet ups now (recently a Christmas meal at Cinnamon Club, a yoga workshop, in Feb a mindset workshop and meal) and Anna is usually there. I found it great meeting people face to face.

My best friend was trying to lose 60 pounds after pregnancy...she had been trying for almost 8 years! Lost 20 pounds after the 90-day diet, but then restored everything lost, with some extra pounds on top of her previous ones..pretty disappointing

Last time I saw her she had lost 40 of those..could not recognize her! She got an online program including diet + exercise from Emily Skye. This is the website https://www.emilyskye.com/ I have no info on which program she followed but..after 8 years trying whatever not, obviously this worked for her

she has 2 small kids so preferred working out at home, not at the gym. But suppose if you can afford the time to go to the gym - that would be more efficient I suppose

Good luck!

Hello,

I know of a personal trainer to recommend. He has had a lot of successful results with his clients. He even helped me out in the past with great results.

Have you tried getting your food delivered by a company like Jane Plan or Soulmatefood? I have done both and both really work. Jane Plan is much cheaper but Soulmatefood is much, much nicer (and therefore I am more inclined to stick to it). However when I stick to Jane Plan I got rid of the last of my baby weight that I was finding it very difficult to shift.

You mention having tested your hormones so this may not
be relevant, but are you on the Mirena coil for contraception? It's notorious for making weight loss difficult.

Have a look at http://www.upfitness.co.uk.

They are to be blunt the best trainers I've ever worked with and run structured programmes around fat loss, leaning out, building muscle tone and so on. I've seen a number of post-baby mums in the Mayfair gym with their trainers and the progress people can make in six weeks is frankly ridiculous. They account for lifestyle, diet, hormone imbalances, etc and while the training is brutal at the outset (although never impossible in my experience) it is hugely satisfying to see the results

The cost is high, but then the outcome for me makes it worth it and some of the best money I've ever spent. (Dad of two who hadn't seen his abdominal muscles since his twenties.

Given your challenges I'd say it's worth a chat with one of the trainers if you've not found something to help yet.

Good luck!

Try Janey Holliday at Making Things Easy, she has heaps of online programmes which run to help with all these things, exercise and diet related, lots of online forums with lots of women supporting each other. She's the founder of Fit for a Princess.

Hello, I used James at Fittolast. He is based in Clapham North. They have classes during the week and James compiles a meal plan for you. No faddy foods normal every items with portion recommendation depending on your aim so it is easy to share meals with the family rather than having one operate meal for yourself. James monitors your progress periodically to keep you motivated and to ensure you are achieving your objective. They focus on weights, body weights, boxing and interval training so not only do you lose weight, you improve your fitness and your core strength. James also does tutorials about health, fitness and nutrition and he is always there for extra advice/support if you require. It does require commitment and the results are amazing. His number is 07834835940
