Insuring a house whilst renovating?

We have just discovered that our insurance company won't insure our house whilst we are renovating, despite there being 10+ builders in it daily they deem it empty as no one is sleeping there!!

Slightly panicking and need to find insurance ASAP, can anyone recommend an insurance company that they have used whilst renovating or a helpful broker that can point us in the right direction please.

If you are renovating please check your existing policy-we didn't think about it and it's only because my mother nagged us to do so that we made the call...!

We used lark insurance. They specialise in this type of insurance (they were recommended by Hiscox so are a good company)
