First birthday suggestions?

Hello - I have no idea what to do for my son's first birthday! We are relatively new expats here so don't have family closeby. What are some ideas that you've done for your baby's first? It is in the summer - so would definitely be outdoors.

What about a picnic with friends & their little ones on one of the Common's? Take a gazebo, rugs, food for a picnic, Pimms & beers :)

That sounds good - but I was hoping for an enclosed area where he can run around with some other babies. Any thoughts?
