Sports physiotherapist?

Postby mummy_dani » Fri Dec 20, 2013 3:45 pm

My husband is training for the marathon and has developed some kind of muscle injury in his leg. Does anyone know of a sports physio who he could see without a referral from his GP. We live BTC so local to here so he could go one evening after work.

Thanks

I can't recommend Tom WIlliams highly enough, he helped me get back on court after my huge car crash. See http://www.activ8rehab.co.uk/ I believe he runs a weekly clinic in the City too which maybe convenient.

I've just started going to Balance, Clapham North for injury rehab.

It seems very good. The physios are sports specialists, there is a gym area. I was referred by a top sports doctor who rates it above the rest in this area.

Why not also try The Alexander Technique to help you recover? And then learn to take the pressure of your joints and float along.

See alexnadertechniquelondon.org for more info.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll pass them on to my husband.

hi, you know Balance Physiotherapy work with Cyclefit and they have physios who are trained bike fitters, I'm training for cycling across India and they totally sorted me out, I was recommended by Cyclefit in Covent Garden who just work with Elite Cyclists, oh and you can cycle there and they have bike racks inside their premises, so they are very bike friendly...
