Where to watch The Boat Race?

Is it totally mobbed or are there places where you have a chance of getting a decent view, especially since we'll have kids along? How early do you arrive?

Hi there,

We are planning to go too.
check out this website

We might go and watch it in Hammersmith (Furnivall Gardens). I guess it is going to be busy everywhere.

Best view is on TV, it will be freezing along the tow path, people whiz by on bikes and the kids won't understand what is going on. However, if you really want to go, near Barnes Bridge you will get a good view of the river and latter part of the race and there are plenty of places where you might get a drink or coffee in Barnes. Parking will be a nightmare.

Right, I should have said "where can I watch it live"?

I won't be driving.
