Queenstown rd reduction in trains - consultation

Postby TLS » Fri Dec 01, 2017 11:34 pm

There's a consultation underway about reducing the number of trains from QTRB station from 7/hr to 4/hr. For anyone who commutes round there this is not good news. The consultation document (which is not at all clear what the change is) is here:
https://www.southwesternrailway.com/con ... nsultation

The email address to write to, to say what you think about this (ludicrous) idea is here:
timetable.feedback@swrailway.com.

Deadline is 22 December. Please consider. Thanks

This is bad news!

I'll definitely object.

Do you know where to find more info about this? The link has a lot of info but difficult to make much sense of it, can't easily see Queenstown Rd mentioned anywhere.

Not to divert the thread, but more to the point is the lack of trains from Battersea Park in the direction of Wandsworth Road. And no through trains to/from Victoria from Wandsworth Road.

It used to be that you could get trains into South East London from Battersea Park, a few went round to London Bridge. But now there are none scheduled during the day (there are a few really early in the morning, and late at night - but I think this is just so they don't entirely lose the routes). Then they ripped up the tracks so there could be no through trains to/from Victoria, and more or less stopped any trains to/from Wandsworth Road. I do see trains on the route, but they aren't timetabled.

The suggested route to get a train service into SE London is:

Get a bus from Battersea Park to Wandsworth Road.

Catch a train from Battersea Park to Clapham Junction, then get another one to Wandsworth Road.

Trains to/from Victoria to/from Wandsworth Road use a line parallel to skirt around Battersea Park.
