Lavender Hill bus crash: Two women trapped

Postby Annabel (admin) » Thu Aug 10, 2017 9:02 am

A double-decker bus has crashed into a shop in south London, leaving two women trapped on the top deck.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said the women were conscious and breathing.

Photos on social media show the vehicle on the pavement having smashed into the front of the Poggen Pohl Kitchen Design Centre in Lavender Hill, causing the shop front to collapse.

From The Guardian

At least six people have been injured in a bus crash on a busy high street in south London.

Images showed the double-decker wedged into the side of a shop after mounting the pavement on Lavender Hill, Clapham. A section of the shop’s awning appeared to have pierced the front windows on the bus’s upper deck. A witness said he saw a trapped woman screaming and that there was “a lot of blood”.

It goes without saying that our thoughts are with those affected and to echo a comment from another witness, Matthew Corner,‏ tweeted: “Bus crash on Lavender Hill looked awful. Hoping no one is badly hurt. Emergency services doing an excellent job.”
