Donations for the Grenfell Tower Fire

Postby galpod » Wed Jun 14, 2017 10:25 am

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd organise donations for the people affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. If you want to help let me know.

Cheers,
Gal.

There are several places that have been set up, including the local Rugby Club and St Clements Church. We'll take the donations there and they will distribute to people who need them.

Right now they are saying to hold off, as they are figuring out what they need. I'll update here as soon as I have more information.

Hi All,
You can take donations to Fresh Ground.
Clothes, bedding, baby/ children stuff, toys, tinned food,
non-perishable things etc.
Thanks.

It's lovely that people want to help but I think it's very unlikely that they need further clothing donations. There's mountains of stuff at various collection centres now

Hi

I set up the donation station at Fresh Ground however they can only accept donations until today.

I've coordinated with the AME church at 2 Mallinson Road they will take donations from 3-7pm until Tuesday 20th.

The Ransom AME Zion Church will be opened Thursday 15 June - to Tuesday 20 June between hours of 3pm-7pm to receive public donations.

Two deliveries to White city will be made 1st on Sunday afternoon 2nd Wednesday evening.

Donations clothes, toys, shoes and non perishable foods. Monies should be directed to the Red Cross.

Church Project Coordinator Marilyn Morrison. 07956 802209. Church Number 02077382984

Thank you

That's true. There are several places online where you can donate money, which is what they probably need most.

Here's one that's been set up by the local organisations (including the Rugby Portobello Club, that has organised a lot of the activities): https://thekandcfoundation.com/donate/

Donations of clothes/shoes/toys are now being turned away from centres as they have nowhere to store them.

So if anybody wants to help then a cash donation is the best option

The Big Give are matching donations to the Kingston and Chelsea Foundation, so if you donate might as well donate through them:

You can email Grenfellvolunteers@rbkc.gov.uk to register as a volunteer. I'm currently waiting to hear back. All of the centres I've checked today are not accepting any more goods just now. Money still needed of course.
