Yet another mugging on St John’s Road

My 16yo son was mugged this Wednesday around 4:35pm on St. John’s Road close to M&S. He had his phone in his pocket, was not wearing headphones and was with 2 friends on a busy street when it happened. He was manhandled a bit by three muggers after they took cash from one of his friends and thre...

Re: GPS tracker or child app for secondary school

Another vote for Life360 (which is free though a pro version is also available) and Apple AirTags (£99 for a set of four).

We used a Gator watch while in primary and it was great but it may be a bit "childish" for secondary school kids.

Hope that helps.

School commute @ Clapham Junction

The return to school at the end of last week has seen huge crowds of students trying to get to school from Clapham Junction, especially on platform 13 with kids traveling to or via East/South Croydon. Muggings targeting children

As many of you may be aware, there has been an increase in muggings of young secondary school kids in our area. A lot of these have happened in broad daylight and during rush hour. Often, the victims are year 7 & 8 children coming through Clapham Junction and Wandsworth station, as well as stude...

Yesterday afternoon (July 4th) at around 4:10 my 10-yr old was on Wakehurst about to cross Alfriston on his way home from school when the driver of a pickup rolled down his window and told him he could cross. The second my son stepped on the road the man sped by laughing out loud and yelling somethi...

House keys found in by the railway bridge on Wandsworth Common. Distinctive neck strap on it (purposely left off photo as means of verifying owner as keys include Banham lock and alarm fob).

If owners not found we’ll bring to Banham or police station.

Re: Applying for Permanent Residency as a EU National - HELP!

Hi M&M, I would suggest you call the Home Office and see what they tell you, they have been very helpful every time I've contacted them. If you need to apply via EEA(PR), I just did this, a few things to know: - You can send the application with a National ID card instead of your passport but yo...

Re: Au Pair Nightmare

Thank you ladies for your replies and offers of help. My friend met with police and reported this, ultimately decided not to pursue translation of messages as they would likely be as inappropriate and explicit as the pictures. Fedupwithdeployment, thank you for the link to the mums net link, that is...

Au Pair Nightmare

I am posting this on behalf of a friend and as a cautionary tale to eveyone. Yesterday my friend asked her au pair of 3 weeks to leave her employment and house immediately. She had grown increasingly frustrated with the quality of the au pair´s work and uncomfortable with some health issues and beha...

Re: High View Primary (vs. Belleville/Honeywell)

Welcome to the Uk and to SW11. I know several people with children at Highview and they are happy there. If you'd like to know how likely you are to be offered a place at BV or HW, it very much depends where you are on the wait lists (some of which move massively over the next few weeks/months). I'd...
