Man and a van/ Waste collection/Sofa collection

I am looking for a recommendation for someone to pick up an old, broken sofa from Balham and take it to the tip. Unfortunately it’s too long to fit into my car. Is there anyone out there that’s reasonably priced? Thanks!

Re: bathroom refurb

Yes, that's a crazy price. A friend of mine has just had two bathrooms done. She sourced tiles and bathroom suite herself (from the bath shop I think) and the work per bathroom was £6.5k. This also included ripping the old big water boiler out. So a £100k is taking the mickey really.

Sleep trouble - advice please

Does anyone have any advice on how to get a baby to sleep longer at night? My little boy (7 months) used to sleep ok, would go to be at 6.30pm, night feed at 11, and would normally wake up 3am and 5/6am for a feed (he's breasted). Since we started solids, it's turned into a nightmare. He's waking up...

Re: Chicken Pox Vaccine

Just to offer my personal experience. My daughter got CP when she was about 18 months and it was no trouble at all. She was off colour for a few days with a temperature, didn't want to eat or play and then on the third day she woke up covered in CP. But to my amazement she got her energy and apetite...

Re: MAY HALF TERM FAMILY HOLIDAY OFFER

Wow. Gosh, wouldn't I like to have that much money! But even with a 10% discount, £24k for a week's holiday is just slightly outside my budget :D

Re: Dinner recommendations Balham??

For a relaxed dinner, I really like Cullios. Lovely (family run, I think?) Italian place.
Just like someone else said, avoid Gazette, awful place with an equally awful service.
Have a lovely evening.

Re: Easter break holiday recommendations

Google Lopesan Baobab. It's in Gran Canaria. We have just booked to go there for the half term, our 3rd visit. Our daughter (4.5) loves it there, kids club is great. Plus guaranteed sunshine and about 3.5 - 4hrs hrs flight.

Re: Rental fees Advice

I can give you my view of fees based on Balham estate agents, think that should be broadly the same around south London. I never take manged option ( I manage properties myself) so have only used agents on let only basis. The average I pay is 7% (with Jackson's, Hamptons, Atkinson Macleod) and have ...

Holiday with a 3 month old baby

Dear all. I need some advice. We are going to Tenerife next week with our 4 and a half year old daughter and a little 3 month old baby. We are taking our Bugaboo with us so he can sleep in it for his naps but not sure if we should take his car seat as well? Does anyone have any experience with this?...

Re: NHS hospitals allow elective c-sections?

Hi Mjel. As far as I know, ALL hospitals can and should provide elective C section. However due to cost they will go out of their way to discourage you. It needs to be signed off by consultant ( if you have one) or MW. You just need to be very firm in your request and they will have to do it. But yo...

Electrician recommendation

I just had a fantastic job done by Philip at Balham Electrical Services, so I wanted to recommend him to fellow NappyValley users. I needed my old ceramic hob changed for a new one and I actually found him recommended on here. And I was most pleased. From the first phone call to the end of the job. ...
