Re: Henry Cavendish Streatham site

Homework isn't everything - it has been shown at this age it may not add a lot to the children. And also reading books at a lower level make sure the skills are firmly rooted in their brains. They often are on a level for longer than the parents think is necessary. I would prefer the younger ages ar...

Re: Streatham Ice Hockey

You can book a family ticket online cheaper - £25 for two adults, 2 kids. You get through a little faster booking online. Far end of the seating is the away supporters so don't sit there. It does start on time - 20 mins with 10/15 min breaks between plus stoppage time. Sat night starts and finishes ...

Re: My friend's mum died yesterday, what can I do for his kids?

There is a cook in Brighton - they deliver as well. I am not clear - is it the children's mum or grandma - if mum a charity like winstons wish or another bereavement charity could help - so you could get information for them. Food and a listening ear - now and after the funeral and for months to com...

Re: Did you get your first choice 2016 primary school?

You can use http://www.schoolcatchement.co.uk - will tell your postcode distance from various schools - but the council use a closer one with a GIS sy...

Re: nct sale

It's towards the end of February I believe. I normally have a sign up outside my house (and my neighbour is doing it this time around) so I would know by now. Probably the 27th Feb. Check out the NCT facebook page to confirm. https://www.nct.org.uk/branches/clapham ... y-new-sale

Re: confused about Lambeth schools admissions!

Hi- we are Wandsworth and got into Henry cavendish nursery and school - it doesn't matter where you live. It is however a different system to Wandsworth and you can apply the term before you are due to start. Call both offices and get them to send you an application form when the time Is right. HC w...

Re: confused about Lambeth schools admissions!

We're only in the catchment for Sudbourne, King's Avenue, and probably Bonneville since it wasn't oversubscribed this year. So on our list, should I select those schools above Henry Cavendish, Telferscot and Clapham Manor? No put the ones you prefer most first and then in order you of preference th...

Re: confused about Lambeth schools admissions!

My children are at HC - when the catchment was 250m. However we are now further up the road on Cavendish over 450m away. Some children in the interim years opposite us have got in so the catchment does move. However the point of this post is that for my daughters year although there was little movem...
