Re: Emmanuel school

We have three children at the school and have successfully tried both the 10+ and 11+ entry routes.  We have been very happy with the school and in particular the outstanding pastoral care.  Being local is what really works for us.  The children can be home by 4pm, get down to homework and still hav...

Removals

Hello, we are currently getting quotes for removal to our new home in the new year. I just wondered if anyone would like to recommend a company? Also any advice on what questions to be asking during the quote?

Car Break Ins off Northcote

We have just witnessed a car break in on Wakehurst Rd. Two masked men on a motor bike mounted the pavement right in front of us and smashed their way into a parked car. It was all over in seconds and they sped off. Presumably looking for valuables. When we continued our journey we noticed other cars...

Re: Suncream

I haven't tried that, Dudette. Great suggestions because it is a constant struggle to keep the eczema at bay.

Suncream

Hi, my 9yr old son suffers from eczema and I wondered if anyone has found a really good kids factor 50 sun cream? One that doesn't dry out the skin and make the eczema worse.

Re: Finton/ Thomas's/ Hornsby

I have also been looking at these three schools. It might be helpful to consider the leavers results as part of your research. Finton only achieved one scholarship this year, Hornsby gained a bucketful particularly academic ones and Thomas's also have a good number in a breadth of areas. I don't thi...

Emanuel School

We are considering Emanuel School for our son. He is not a rugby player and much prefers football. I have heard Emanuel won't include football on their PE curriculum. How have other Emanuel boy mums found the sport if your son isn't very sporty or keen on rugby?

Broken Window

My children have broken a window (ours!) playing football in the garden. Any recommendations for a quick response glass company?

Re: Clapham common enclosed area reserved!

Hi, I used to be a Head teacher at one of the nurseries that use the dog free zone for Sports Day. There was a rigorous application process through the council and all plans and timings had to be approved. We also had a three figure fee to pay which hopefully went to the general upkeep of the park f...

That's really helpful, thanks so much. Will definitely investigate Chestnut Grove. Does anyone know how it went?

School Quiz Night

Does anyone have any ideas on an available hall we could use that would seat up to 180/200 where we could bring our own food and drink? In the Battersea/Clapham/Balham area.
