Re: Personal Stylist reqd

Highly recommend Clare Lopez. I really don't like shopping, but she has sorted out my wardrobe!! Claire Lopez - Personal Stylist Wandsworth, London (stylebyclairelopez.co.uk)

Re: do most mums get gifts for giving birth?

I didn’t and I genuinely couldn’t care less! I don’t have any friends who did either (or perhaps if they were given gifts they discreetly kept that fact to themselves?!)

Re: How to find a playgroup

That’s a brilliant suggestion - I’ve not been to the playhouse one, but friends who have loved it. Pretty sure I’ve seen them advertising spaces recently - visit

Re: How to find a playgroup

Whereabouts are you living? I believe Rise & Shine has started up again on a Wednesday at St Mark’s on Battersea Rise. Worth checking out the website (smbr.church) or calling the office on 020 7223 6188.

Re: Where are the decent playgrounds in Wandsworth and Tooting?

Skate park at Kimber Rd, but that’s SW18. No idea where you are in SW17. There’s also another big playground in King George’s Park (the smaller toddler one mentioned as undergoing a refurb is further north within the park).

Re: Dont want to invite unvaccinated friends to a party

I agree with you (whilst agreeing with AbbMum23 that no vaccine will be 100% effective at stopping you catching and transmitting COVID-19 - why would you want to increase your chances of picking it up?) Could you host something outside to try to reduce risk of infection etc? Probably not a bad idea ...

Re: Primary Schools catchment areas in Earlsfield

That's exciting - hope all goes well with your house purchase - Earlsfield is a fantastic place for families! I can't share any experience of your precise situation - Swaffield was our first choice school and we love it - but would recommend you call the schools team at the Council, as they should b...

Re: COVID VACCINE - why are Thurleigh Practice not putting any information on their website?

Over 50s can book online now https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ I don’t know anything about Thurleigh Practice, but perhaps they have higher numbers of patients in the priority groups, or even higher take up than other local pract...

Re: Is a new iphone too much for a 10 year old for Xmas?

Completely agree with rubyonrails regarding flash gadgets drawing unwanted attention. I'd get a refurbished something-older-which-no-one's-interested-in-stealing, if the present absolutely has to be an iPhone. I feel like there are pros, but there are also other cons (such as having to deal with soc...

Re: is it reasonable to ask teenagers to isolate so grandparents can visit?

Of course it is not unreasonable to ask, but I personally consider it a bit outrageous to invite oneself for Christmas and then make demands of the host. But obviously that's just how I read it. If they're old enough to be particularly concerned by a potential COVID risk, I would seriously thinking ...

Re: Wimbledon Park primary school admissions

I'm afraid I don't have any particular wisdom on Wimbledon Park primary school, but I would encourage you to call the Council to discuss where people in your road have got places in the previous years. In my experience the schools team are very willing to help and will have the most up to date infor...
