Re: Recommended bathroom design/suppliers/fitters

The CP Hart discount store in Wimbledon (Weir Road) is excellent and they help design bathrooms. Natalie Parker there was brilliant (including a visit to our house in the midst of our project to explain something to our plumber!) and helped with layouts based on our drawings. Prices for the things w...

Re: Battersea/Clapham - urgent need of short-term let

We were in a similar situation and ended up taking a short let through Foxtons with a week to go before our build. You may already have ruled out using an agent but two of the places we looked at were on Airbnb for more money, even taking into account the rental fee we paid to Foxtons! And I have to...

Re: Cast Iron Radiator Recommendations

A second vote for Castrads. They've just supplied all the radiators in our house as part of our renovation project. A good price point and the showroom Wimbledon Village shows a good selection of their range and the various finishes. Staff are super-helpful and the lead times shorter then elsewhere....

Re: work stress / home stress

I really feel for you! It's such a tough one and I'm not sure I know anyone who believes they have the right balance. I agree with lots of what the previous posters have said, and having tried a whole combination of options since having children 8 years ago (full-time/part-time/working from home/car...

Re: Disliked FaceGym - FaceFit?

Hi Mummyjean, I haven't tried FaceGym either but I've had two FaceFit sessions with Elaine and they are soooo lovely! I'm sure there is another thread somewhere on here about her incredible massage skills- definitely no flicking and pinching :) A real treat and very relaxing, plus my skin looked ama...

Re: Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine - Bexsero

Ouch! That is a huge increase- I paid £150 per dose at the Bellevue Road clinic in the summer. When I made the second appointment, the price had gone up to £175 think, so I went to MyHealthcare at Battersea Reach who charged £120 and were absolutely lovely. As far as I'm aware, it's still £120 per i...

Re: Home birth?

I was booked in for a home birth with my fourth and again, cannot praise the wonderful Rainbow Team highly enough! It did feel like one-to-one care and I felt hugely supported. However, my waters broke early, but active labour didn't establish so I was induced in St George's after 48 hours and no 4 ...

Re: Meningitis b vaccine- recent experiences?

My children (6, 5, 3) had no after-effects at all after the first dose. A bit grumpy maybe, but hard to know whether that was entirely attributable to the jab :D They've yet to have the second one. £90 sounds good- which clinic? I paid £150 per dose; rather irritatingly the receptionist made a mista...

Re: Thyroglossal Cyst Removal

Yes- my daughter had surgery at 20 months to remove a thyroglossal cyst. It was a stressful time but she was incredibly well-looked after and was /is absolutely fine. Surgery took 2.5 hours and but she was discharged same day with only Calpol for pain relief and was charging around like a lunatic th...
