Crazy expensive! Try Gill: 07791 791847
She's great, Clapham-based, and a lovely person to boot. She was the cheapest from 3 quotes and came in even cheaper as she finished earlier than she predicted.

That does sound pricey, yes. I recently had Martin Best of The Best Decorators come and do some work for me. Very old school attention to detail with no corner cutting or short cuts. I love what he did for me.

His details are: http://www.thebestdecorator.co.uk/about-martin/

The decorating quote seems pretty high to me. Does it include lots of woodwork (skirting, picture rails, doors) as that can drive the price up?
Flooring also appears quite high but I guess it depends what finish you're after?
How many people have you had to quote for you? I can recommend both a decorator and a carpet guy. Will pm you details later today.

The paint job sounds rather expensive and as for flooring, try asking Jussi to quote just as a gauge, as his prices do include labour and material. I had found his to be much more reasonably priced compared to 2 local wooden floor companies. I've used him twice now and would highly recommend him

Hi all,

We've done a search on this site for cost of painting but thought it best to start a new post.

We have recently purchased a flat and want to redo the floors (currently there is carpeting) and also have repainting done. We've received some eye popping quotes already and are hoping some of you may have recommendations on quality builders that do this kind of work without charging absurd fees.

For example this is a ~700 Sq Ft flat (2 BR, 1 Reception) and we have been quoted £3,500 for painting (excluding paint).

Labour cost for installing the wood flooring was quoted at £2,500 - excluding materials.

Much appreciated.
