I find it extremely unlikely that the school have not contacted ofsted

What I would like to say is, as a parent I have known the school for a very long time, and this incident by no means would discourage me from recommending the school to friends and family, however what makes this school amazing is the teachers. I would hope that the teachers and staff involved in this incident have been treated fairly, and the school as a whole setting have taken responsibility for what as happened.

Last I had heard was staff were unsure if Ofsted had even been contacted. They were concerned management hadn't contact Ofsted for follow up of this safeguarding issue.

Any update on this?

I am sure the nursery are taking this incident extremely seriously and reviewing all their procedures in light of this. My daughter attended the nursery at a local state school a few years ago and a nusery child managed to get out of the playground and walk to the end of the road, towards a busy junction before being located and returned to the school. All the parents were notified very soon afterwards and the school made a number of changes to ensure this didn't happen again.

Whilst this shouldn't have happened, who can, hand on heart, say they have never looked round a playground or soft play and not been immediately able to locate their child - I know I haven't!! The important thing is that the child was quickly located and returned unharmed, but transparency is the key and any concerned parents should ask the nursery to explain clearly the details surrounding the incident and the steps being taken to prevent this happening again.

I worked for The Kindergartens and the staff are not treated well that's why there's a lot of turnover. I was told we are not allowed to drink water while working with the children. I questioned this so I was allowed to take discreet sips of water during work hours.
The people I worked with were amazing devoted workers and they do a great job but the management is not great.
There was a time when we were told that there will be no more supplies coming such as cards, glitter, etc. We had to buy things ourselves and spend our own money so we can do things with the children.
One colleague has worked there for years and fell ill and they did not pay her for the week that she was off after an operation even after asking for all the documents from the GP etc.
During Ofsted inspections, they get a call from Ofsted the day before. They then bring in all the best materials/equipment from other nurseries to make everything look amazing. We even had members of staff from other nurseries working at our setting that day. It was all for show for Ofsted, that's how they get outstanding.
I think families ought to know what goes on behind the smiles at the door. I am a parent myself and I would like to know that the people who work with my child are treated well. I hope The Kindergartens start treating their staff better.

I agree that this incident is dreadful.
I have often wondered if schools and nurseries around here are strict enough with the security of the children, as I have seen other nurseries too monitor children on wandsworth common less than I would monitor as a parent.
But I am also very pleased MH is taking this seriously and putting procedures in place to prevent this (very strict now when the children go to the playground). So really cannot fault MH about how they have responded to the incident.

I think it's valid for parents/community to discuss this, it's a big deal and hopefully everyone learns from this. However the OP does sound like an unfocused rant to me, with the imagined mouse droppings ...

Don't they have 13 nurseries now?

All businesses are someone's livelihood aren't they? Does that mean you should never leave a bad review on trip advisor?
This is a bit more serious than shoddy service at a cafe and this is a local community, it's perfectly reasonable for parents to discuss it, wonder how it happened, etc.

The kindergartens is a huge business with lots of nurseries anyway isn't it?

Hang on, a nursery age child was left alone in the playground? Don't they all wear high viz? How on earth did they leave a kid behind?
My god the parents must be totally freaked out. Poor little thing, how absolutely awful. What if she/he had attempted to walk back alone, across Bollingbroke Grove! That's dreadful.

My friend took the child back to nursery. I think its a little unfair to accuse the poster of this thread of slander, because it did happen so as a prospective parent, she is free to question it. However maybe it is better to address it directly with the nursery given some of the protective parents here! I also agree that this is not reflective of the nursery and its usual standards, but it happened.

As parent at the nursery also I agree that this thread just seems mean spirited and not a fair representation of the nursery. I for one will wait to hear the official outcome of what actually happened and not pass judgement until then.
Also on terms of staff it has been pretty stable and so there are a few departures this year but really nothing the nursery could do to prevent them. Mouse house is a lovely place and the teachers have all been lovely to date.

I think you can defend and ask questions at the same time. It's too early yet to demand all the facts, they need to complete the investigation.

Yes there will be some facts and lots of rumors circulating I am sure, and this seems like a good portal to spread garbage that people might believe.

I am a parent of the nursery and other parents similarly stand by it and defend it.

We all just need to be measured and not just believe what we hear unless it is directly from the school.

I am clued up, but that's because of my work and nothing to do with the nursery. So i think you should stop, as all of your skepticism and cynicism is making you look a bit silly and is not helpful or productive for anyone.

Sorry I am speculating about the ofstead rating, isn't safe guarding a big thing for them? So no idea if they will.
