It's interesting to see how people throughout NV are affected in different ways by aircraft noise.

Having lived in Fulham I was surprised in the difference how much quieter it was when we moved to Wandsworth (west of the Common).

To be honest I hardly ever notice it - in fact, sitting here I'm straining to hear anything despite a flight heading for Heathrow every minute or so.

However the "Helicopter Corridor" for the route to the Battesea Heliport seems to take them over Wandsworth Bridge as an "turning point" before they lose height to land.

So the Tonsleys, Earlsfield Road, Wandsworth Prison, The Cemetery, Magdalen Road, Springfield etc are right underneath them - and they're only 500ft or so high!

Mind you having said that we only seem to get a handful a day so it's not the end of the world :D

surely leisure travel is also really good for our economy as people stay in our hotels, shop, eat in our restaurants and generally spend their money. With the £ making foreign tourists visits cheap now, this can only be good for our economy and job and long may this continue.

Whereabouts do you live firstimer? We are on the south of Wandsworth common and it doesn't bother us - we see loads of them heading into Heathrow but only hear it if actually awake but the noise isn't enough to wake us up. Pollution is part of living in London whichever bit you live in, but we can jump on a plane and get away too. At least we are not living in Barnes!

I dont find the noise bothers me at all in Wandsworth and with Brexit we need to keep 'open for business' . If you don't like the noice move away from flight paths, simple. Many of use use Heathrow for business and holidays, spare a thought for the people that live in the north or England that have to have stop overs when they need to fly longhaul, we are very lucky to have Heathrow on our doorstep.

Right. I'm on a mission.
After sitting in my garden last night and timing aircraft landing at Heathrow, at one point it was literally 1 flight landing per minute.
It's making life unbearable for many people. We are all awake in our house when the first flights start 4.30am, and they tend to be the large planes coming in from Dubai/HK/NYC etc.
Imagine what it'll be like when the 3rd runway gets built. Currently, it works out at about 55 flights landing every morning between 4.30am - 6am.

I urge anyone who is affected by the noise pollution to voice your objection here.
