Knotweed hits Nappy Valley. Coolest local bars and restaurants. Splitting the family home in a divorce?

“Look, look!” screeched my daughter, “over there!”

We’ve just come back from a holiday in the Lake District.

As a family we don’t spend nearly enough time outdoors.

As we drove up the final stages on the M6, where the fells and sheep start to appear beside the motorway, my daughter had been regaling us with stories of the last time she’d been in the countryside…

“That’s what chased us,” she continued pointing excitedly out the window, “three of those, they’re really really fierce.”

“Do you mean those brown things?” asked my son.

“Yes,” she said, “they’re massive and really mean.”

“Cows,” said my son, “you were chased by a pack of killer cows?”

“I’m not sure what they are,” she replied, failing to pick up on his sarcastic tone, “but they should be kept in cages like in the zoo.”

Ok, so perhaps we need to spend a LOT more time out of London.
