Hi Karin,

I recently used The London Handyman 0800 4488271. Fantastic! I got the number from this site and since heard
other school mums talking about them :)
Glad you asked as I have been meaning to post

I would recommend Toby - he has been recommended before - he's a really nice bloke, completely trustworthy, is very thorough in his work, doesn't charge silly prices, does the big DIY jobs as well as the little ones. You can contact him on 07774 138209.
He also happens to be my husband!

This is really useful. How much should I expect to be charged? Is it an hourly rate? Thanks!

I pay our handyman £20 an hour. He has an advert in the back of one of those free local family magazines but I can't find it at the moment. His name is Brian. Let me know whether you'd like me to look for his number. I've also used a handyman called Mario (07852163879) who is about £20 per hour too but only to build a picket fence so don't know what he's like otherwise.

I don't think you should pay more than £100-150 per day if you are going by a daily rate for London (well, this part of London anyway!).
