This coming Easter we’re taking a ski/drive holiday so my parsimonious husband decided to buy pre-worn snow tyres and pay someone to fit them at home.
He’s hatched worse schemes so I stayed silent whilst he checked tyre sizes, read online reviews and then proceeded to spray carefully calculated bids around a well known auction website like a toddler clicking “buy it now” in Moshi Monsters.
What he didn’t do was open a window and check to see if we were in the middle of the warmest winter on record, as that would pretty obviously, affect the other bidders.
And as a result he won all the auctions.
Every. Single. One.
I now have eleven snow tyres scattered around my small back garden and more are arriving tomorrow.
All I’m missing are a couple of chimpanzees for it to resemble the monkey enclosure at London Zoo.
But that’s not the best news.
My lovely friends at Volvo have just offered me a press car for the very same holiday.
So we now have “snow” need for any winter tyres whatsoever.
Sorry about the pun but I feel it’s acceptable when I’m the one living in KwikFit.
Here is what you’ve been talking about on NappyValleyNet (Wandsworth):

From veg. to lead. Yup, you read that right. DDR warns us all to be careful, a bunch of houses on Lyford Road have had lead stolen from their roofs. I wonder if it’s the same bunch who’ve been procuring the veg boxes? I guess you have to be in good shape to climb a building? (click here)
