GCSE results | King’s College School

Many congratulations to all members of the sixth form upon their very strong summer examination results; A and modular AS level results are released today and IB results were released last month.

In only our second year of A level results since 2008, we are pleased to report that before any possible re-marks, pupils have achieved 94% of all grades at A* – B. 31% of all grades are at A*. 20 pupils have achieved at least three A* grades.
These results follow the release of the school’s exceptional IB results in July, for which, following re-marks, a record 17 out of the 72 pupils achieved the maximum score of 45 points. All this means that the whole year group has currently achieved a combined performance of  77% of grades at A/A* for A level or 6/7 for IB  higher level. We are proud of all the boys and girls in the upper sixth on their fine achievement, and of all the staff who have taught them.

In their modular AS results, lower sixth pupils achieved well over 92% of grades at A and B (there are no A* grades at AS). Following exam reform, many subjects were not assessed at AS, but pupils can also be pleased with their end of year internal examinations.
As always, we are very aware that a number of upper sixth pupils are not in the position they had planned. Please be assured that members of the UCAS team, the exams team and senior figures including the head master are available to give support and advice as needed.
