Welcome to your weekly What’s On activity guide from NappyValleyNet!
The mud is reaching ridiculous levels. There are days when I feel I’m living out the Daz ad campaign of the 1980s. They head out fresh and clean and come back caked in the stuff, splattered, tattered and in need of a hose down before crossing the threshold. The other day I commented to a friend of my son’s, as they both stood there poised to be caked in mud from tip to toe in the quagmire that was once Clapham Common, “How on earth do you manage to get those socks clean again? Look at ours, they’re permanently grey.” “Err, my mum washes them?” was his somewhat baffled reply. I must ask her what washing powder she uses (Daz?) or perhaps give up on them and only ever buy dark coloured socks again. A certain Spanish team might well be able to get away with white socks, but they sure don’t last the season in SW London. If you’re looking for activities to wear them out, both on dry land and in the mud, keep a regular eye on our calendar. click here
