Falcons School for Girls Pupil Runs the School for a Day

Five-year-old Jemima Appleton took on the role of Headmistress for the day at Falcons School for Girls.

Jemima turned up dressed for business in a smart outfit complete with pearl earrings, to help real Headmistress, Sophia Ashworth Jones with her daily duties including a special assembly about Judaism. She stood at the front and had the job of handing out certificates to many of her well deserving classmates.

The job was awarded to Jemima after her parents gave a hugely generous donation bidding on the raffle prize at a recent Parent Quiz evening. The money raised will go to the school’s chosen Charity School in Cambodia, Hang Svart.

Her fellow classmates also came dressed in “careers” clothes which ranged from teachers, mathematicians, vets and even a forensic scientist.

1Mrs Ashworth Jones commented: “Jemima loved her day and hopefully it will continue her desire to become a Headmistress in the future, accompanied by all of our aspiring girls whom came dressed for some impressive careers!”

The school offers an optimal learning environment and has specialist facilities for Science, Mathematics, Art, Drama and Dance. Leadership can be seen at every level of the school contributing to a cherishing and challenging culture.

Creativity is at the heart of The Falcons School for Girls and teachers are able to adapt the delivery of the curriculum to reflect every girl’s individual learning needs. The school also works closely with the parents during the education process and each girl is prepared for entry into the senior school which best meets their learning needs and future development.
