Chair re-caning recommendation

Postby F&F » Tue Jul 08, 2014 4:59 pm

Just had to have my dining chairs re-caned - it was looking like the re-caning was going to cost more than the chairs cost in the first place based on a quote I had from a place in Vauxhall. But I found http://www.mikecurry.co.uk/ to be much more reasonably priced. He is a lovely man to deal with: he took up re-caning after retirement as he had a few pieces of furniture of his own that needed repair and now he does it as a hobby with an income. I have now had all 8 chairs re-caned, they look fab and he even picked up and dropped off the chairs from his home in Basingstoke for £25 to cover fuel (2 round trips). Would highly recommend him.
