Re: Selling baby stuff in Clapham/Wandsworth

SW18 Buying/Selling/Giving is a brilliant Facebook page although if you price too high people won't buy, I generally find. There is also an SW11 similar page but doesn't get the same penetration as the SW18 equivalent. Annabels arcade unfortunately doesn't have a great track record for me personally...

How much should I expect to pay a babysitter?

Hi there I have an almost one year old and we are thinking of taking the plunge and hiring a babysitter for an occasional evening out. How much should I reasonably expect to pay on a per hour basis? Sitters.co.uk says £7.10 per hour, is that right? I see a lot of babysitters advertising on her for £...

Re: Estate Agent Advice

The one thing I'd say to you if you can get the vast majority of them down to 1%. Pay any more and you're wasting your money.
Hamptons Old Town are very good. Have used them to buy and sell and as much as I generally hate estate agents, I found them to be a fairly decent outfit.

We wanted to use B&W but they book up very fast. We used Clockwork and they came recommended to us. Was very satisfied with them.

Re: Advice about nanny "perks" - extra income?

I would probably allow it if it had been reciprocated. However it seems to me that you're essentially helping another family out (thereby allowing your nanny to make some extra cash) yet when your nanny is sick, no one is covering your children? That for me would be the main issue. I hope you sort t...

Re: Clapham Village Nursery

My child attends and I love it, as does she. The facilities are fantastic. It suffers currently from a lack of children as it's brand new but the staff are wonderful and I feel feel very confident leaving my child there.
Please let me know if you need any further information.

Violent Mugging between the Commons in broad daylight

Just wanted to make people aware that a mugging took place an hour or so ago (14 August) on one of the roads between Broomwood and Thurleigh. It was quite violent, a lone female was choked until she passed out and her bag and phone taken. We have just had the police to the door asking us if we saw a...

Re: Waxed Floors Battersea Rise

HI there, I viewed a house to buy around 3 years ago and they had amazing flooring. I didn't buy the house but asked them where they got their flooring. They were from Waxed floors and raved about how good they were. I subsequently bought a different house but got my flooring from there and they rea...

Re: Selling house

Another reason to do as Jonathan says and choose the agent now, get your pics and floor plan etc ready before a September launch is that if the house you like is potentially going to go under offer (it's not like NO one out there is buying) and you aren't ready to sell yours, then you could end up l...
