I'm looking for a childminder to look after my nine month old son three days a week from mid-April, ideally in the Tooting Broadway or Figges Marsh area, but I'm willing to travel further afield for the right person.

We've just been told that the two nurseries we're on the waiting list for are very unlikely to have space, and have been thrown into a bit of a blind panic. I'm slowly coming round to the idea of using a childminder, but I'd much rather go on recommendation than pick random names off a list.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know any childminders but have you considered Looking Glass nursery? It's quite big so often has avaiable places. My daughter's been there since she was 8 months old and we've been happy with the care there (she's 3 now). Just a thought... and good luck!

Thanks for your reply. We looked round Looking Glass a few months ago but decided it wasn't for us. We met a childminder yesterday who we really liked so hopefully things will work out with her.
