Do you check your partner’s email? Child car seat rules changing. Rise in thefts from bike sheds?

Dear NappyValleyNetter,

My recent “Applegate” email elicited a stack of responses from users with similar stories.

My favourite was a NappyValleyNetter who dropped her phone down the loo “post-use” “pre-flush” as she so delicately put it.

After taking wise counsel from Google she buried the damp device in a tub of rice to dry.

Which took two days because it was very, very wet.

On the Friday evening she returned home from work to find her husband back early from a week long business trip.

Unaware of her mobile machinations he was happily tucking in to a big bowl of rice that he’d just cooked from, yes you’ve guessed it, the tub she hadn’t quite got around to clearing away.

“I can’t tell him,” she signed off, “as I’ve broken three phones in nine months and he’s threatening to give me a Nokia brick for Christmas.”

Hm mm…I’m not convinced that’ll be the first thing on his mind if he ever finds out!
