Walk for Wandsworth – Joining Generations
Children’s Sponsored Walk 20th September 2009 I'm a Wandsworth mum and I work part time for Age Concern Wandsworth fundraising and recruiting volunteers. We are very proud and excited to announce our ‘Walk for Wandsworth’ Sponsored walk!! This will be a children’s sponsored walk and wonderful family day on Sunday 20th September 2009. This super event will take place between 12 and 4pm at Wandsworth Park (the pathway around the bowling green / tennis courts; next to the children’s playground). The cost per child taking part in the sponsored walk will be £7.50, you can register your little ones on the day or register in advance please either go to our website http://www.ageconcernwandsworth.org.uk and follow the link on the home page or contact Hicky on 020 8877 8959. This event is open to all wanting to enjoy a lovely family day, there is no entrance fee; the only charge is the £7.50 per child which covers the goody bag and administration costs. There will be face painting, raffles and music. There will be free fabulous activity sessions from Monkey Music and Mambo Mummies! There will also be police horses / police car / vintage police car and a fire engine too!! The aim of this event is for little ones to enjoy a day out with their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends whilst at the same time raising money for Age Concern Wandsworth through getting sponsors for taking part in the sponsored walk. My little boy Barnaby is 20 months old and will be taking part as one lap of the course is only 100 metres long, older children can do as many laps as they like as can mums with babies in buggies! We will arrange a personal online Just Giving page and a paper sponsorship form and goody bag for all little ones that register. It's going to be brilliant!
